Ready to start your therapy journey? Let’s work together to make it a fulfilling and rewarding experience!
An LMFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist who is trained in family systems and psychotherapy. MFTs treat a wide range of serious clinical problems including: depression, marital issues, anxiety, and stress.
The regulations vary from state to state, but in New York state, an LMFT has obtained a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, passed a national license exam, and has at least two years of clinical experience.
I am in network with Aetna and Optum. I can also be billed as an out of network provider for many other insurances.
If you are self pay, the fee is $200 for all sessions.
If you are in network, pay a copay or the full session fee, which varies by insurance type, until you have hit your deductible.
Everyone’s therapy journey is different. You will work closely with your therapist to determine your needs. Some people prefer more short term acute therapy, while others prefer to have a longer relationship with the therapist. There is no right or wrong amount of time that you should be in therapy for, but every few months your therapist will assess goals and progress with you.
At Stronger Together MFT, we are completely virtual. This means that the sessions will be over video chat, and as long as you are in a safe and comfortable space, you can access the video chat from any device, anywhere in NY state. Sessions typically last for 45 minutes.
Therapy sessions are typically on a weekly basis. As you reach the end of your therapy journey, you may transition to bi-weekly sessions.
After you have filled out the contact form, you will hear back from your therapist for a consultation phone call. During that call you and the therapist will discuss what is bringing you into therapy, what kind of services you are looking for, and the next steps for scheduling an appointment. Once you have scheduled an appointment, your therapist will send you intake and consent forms to fill out prior to your first meeting. This helps the therapist tailor your sessions to your specific needs. Once the therapy process has started you will create collaborative goals with your therapist. As you work on these goals, you and the therapist will continue to assess when goals have been met.
